For the last session at the school we just played games the whole time, however we were still tried to make it so that everything the pupils had learnt during the 5 session and showcase week could be put into use. This session seemed to be one of the funnest as the pupils really enjoyed what could be their last chance for a while at playing dodgeball. The session ran really smoothly with no real interruptions from the coaches, the pupils were just able to get on and play good quality dodgeball matches.
As you can see we have tried to make each sessions as fun as possible for the pupils and still provide quality physical education to them.
Quality physical education is not a specific curriculum but an instructional philosophy that includes
- Keeping all students active for most of the class period.
- Building students’ confidence in their physical abilities
- Influencing moral development by providing students with opportunities to assume leadership, cooperate with others, and accept responsibility for their own behavior.
- Having fun!
The importance of making physical education fun was illustrated by a national survey in America, which found that enjoyment of physical education class was one of the most powerful factors associated with participation in physical activity outside of school.
